Friday Focus - High Mileage Car Competition
On Monday, Buffalo Grove students competed in Joliet at the AutoBahn against several other schools. These students’ vehicles averaged well over 250 mpg!! Well done!

- Congratulations to Danny Zickert, a member of the football, cheerleading, and volleyball team, who tried out for the cheerleading squad at the University of Kentucky over the weekend and made the team. The University of Kentucky is the current Coed Cheerleading National Champion and have won 22 times. Danny is the first Buffalo Grove Cheerleader to make the University of Kentucky cheerleading team. Danny joins Milena Laera (University of Kansas) on making college cheerleading teams this year. Congratulations to Danny & Milena!

- Congratulations to our Girls Soccer players named All-Conference, Georgette Topalis, Kendra Lee, Alyssa Floro, and Courtney Lee. Special congratulations to Georgette Topolis named MSL Player of the Year and to Coach Pat Dudle namedMSL Coach of the Year!

After 43 years, Buffalo Grove High show choir to take final bow

Buffalo Grove High School seniors Kira Damo and Jake Hackl are heirs to a legacy. Growing up, Damo of Arlington Heights and Hackl of Buffalo Grove watched their older sisters perform in The Expressions, BGHS' award-winning show choir. They imagined following in their siblings' footsteps. And they did. But that legacy ends with them and the 59 other members of the show choir when The Expressions gives their final performance Saturday. Read Story
Buffalo Grove, Stevenson High Among 'Most Challenging' Schools: Washington Post

Many students can skate by in high school with good grades when they choose less-challenging courses. But, more challenging courses, such as Advanced Placement classes, are what really help teens grow and learn and even earn college credits. With that in mind, the Washington Post recently released its 2017 list of the Most Challenging High Schools in the U.S. Several suburban schools made this year's list, and College Prep School of America, a private school in Lombard, was ranked as the most challenging in the state. The school ranked as the 53rd most challenging nationally. Adlai Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire came in at No. 3 on the list and Buffalo Grove High School was No. 8. Read Story

More than two dozen American flags provided a patriotic backdrop Thursday as Northwest suburban high school students, police, firefighters and other volunteers began building a house in Spring Grove for a military veteran and his family.

2. What department have you/ do you work in? I am the foodservice and nutrition manager.
3. How long have you been working at BG? I have been working at BG for 12 years.
4. Where did you go to high school? I went to high school in France
5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? What I find rewarding is being able to work with such a fantastic group of people. Also watching all the students coming into the cafeteria enjoying the food we prepare for them.
6. What is something unique about you? I am fluent in French, Italian and English.
