  • Audience members are allowed to bring their own comfort items including blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, cushions.

  • Audio elements will be quieted and disposable ear plugs are available at no cost.

  • Movement and talking in the audience will not be prohibited or policed.

  • A simulcast video of the performance will be displayed in the lobby for families who need to move around with greater frequency or who need breaks from the large group environment of the theatre itself.

  • The cast, crew, ushers, and adult supervisors are prepared for interruptions and audience interaction where necessary/appropriate.

Staff Spotlight - Hassan Waseem

Hassan Waseem pictured on the left, with fellow E/FA teachers Ryan Green and Sydney Sadler

What is your name? My name is Hassan Waseem.

What department do you teach in/ How long have you been teaching at BG? I teach in the English/Fine Arts department, and this is my first year at BG!

Where did you go to high school/ college? I went to high school at Conant and split my time in college between UIC and Grand Canyon University.

What part of teaching do you find the most rewarding? The most rewarding part of teaching for me has to be the interactions and bonds one forms with the students. I want to be there for my students both in terms of their learning as well as building a sense of community.

What’s a bucket list item for you? I want to eat at a restaurant that has received a three Michelin star rating.

What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I am currently reading The Coming Wave by Micheal Bhaskar and Mustafa  Suleyman. My favorite book is Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin

What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I am the sponsor of Media club at BG. We live stream sporting events like our home football games, create videos for the school, and work on short-film projects!

What is something unique about you? I recently had an Ostrich egg for breakfast with my family. Once cracked open (it was not easy to do this), it had 24 chicken eggs worth of yolk inside. We made omelets, French Toast, scrambled eggs, and a cake. It tasted amazing! I highly recommend eating an Ostrich egg if ever you all get the chance!
