The Daily Herald, March 16, 2018
Students from Buffalo Grove High School are studying the history of France in a unique way, through a production of "Les Misérables School Edition," an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical performed by students only. Students will give four public performances in the school's Miller Theater: at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 13, Saturday, April 14, Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21. Read Story
Softball: Scouting Northwest
The Daily Herald, March 15, 2018
Outlook: Pitching and defense will be the key to the Bison's success this season. "We have a lot of experienced leaders both in the infield and outfield which will be key to helping our pitching staff," said Bison coach Star Dorsey. "Our pitchers will need to work hard to get ahead and stay ahead in the counts this season." Read Story
Boys gymnastics: Scouting Northwest
The Daily Herald, March 16, 2018
Outlook: The good news was that the Bison had 17 different individuals compete in the state meet last year. The bad news is that 15 of the 18 scores they counted in the team event graduated. Buffalo Grove coach Zach Crandall will look to get his team back on track to hopefully again qualify for state. Read Story
Girls soccer: Scouting Northwest
The Daily Herald, March 15, 2018
Outlook: The Bison rarely played the part of an attacking powerhouse the past two years, but with a high work rate, boundless energy, purpose, urgency and the two-time MSL East POY on the roster, they managed to lift consecutive division trophies despite a sub-.500 overall record. "We lost some terrific leadership from last years graduating class, including Georgette (Topalis), the two-time MSL East player-of-the-year. So hopefully some of that toughness will reverberate within this years club to help us reach our goal of winning another division title," says coach Pat Dudle. Read Story
Baseball: Scouting Northwest
The Daily Herald, March 17, 2018
Outlook: The Bison are coming off their best season since 1999 and came up just a bit short in the state playoffs. Buffalo Grove appears to be poised to take another run at the MSL East title with a tremendous pitching corps of Valpo-commit Zach Fricke, Mac Camardo and TJ Constertina. Read Story

1. What is your name? Zach Eccles
2. What department have you/do you work in and what do you do? I teach different levels of Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus.
3. How long have you been working at BG? This is my 7th year at BG, 10th year teaching overall.
4. Where did you go to high school? I went to Dixon High School.
5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing students learn, grow, and mature from Freshman year to Senior year. I grew as a person in high school and I love seeing our BG students doing the same. Even if I play a very small part in that growth, I still find it very rewarding.
6. What is something unique about you? I earned a D the first time that I took Algebra 1 when I was in 8th grade. I repeated Algebra 1 in 9th grade and did very well. So much so that I found out I wanted to be a math teacher!
7. What activities or clubs do you follow? I have been a math team coach for 7 years.
