Friday Focus:
We have one last show in the One Grove Gallery this year that will go over into the first month of the new school year. The one woman show is the work of senior Lucie Greene. Lucie was not only the BG nominee, but was the 2018 District 214 winner of the Richard Calisch Arts Unlimited Award. Celebrating Our Success!
- Congratulations to Boys Track & Field athletes Zack Sheasby and Isaac Suh headed to State this week! Zack qualified for State in the long jump and triple jump, and Isaac Suh qualified for the high jump.
- Congratulations to our Varsity Baseball team on winning the MSL Championship!!
- Congratulations to BG Softball on winning their IHSA Regional game 12-2 over Waukegan.
- A huge thank you Ed Moon for 10 years of service to the theater tech department of BGHS!! We thank you for your influence on our drama program.

Girls track notes: Nya Carr solidifies her spot in Buffalo Grove history

Nya Carr allowed herself a sheepish smile when asked about the idea of being one of the best Buffalo Grove girls track athletes of all time. The Buffalo Grove senior owns the program records in the 100- and 200-meter dashes as well as the long jump. A four-time state qualifier, the Arlington Heights resident has done more than most Bison sprinters who came before her. Read Story

Softball: Buffalo Grove, Hoffman, Schaumburg advance to regional semifinals

Freshman Kylie Mainville earned the win and Megan Fontanetta closed out the game on the mound for Buffalo Grove, which advanced to the semifinal of the Class 4A Palatine regional with a 12-2 five-inning win over visiting No. 18 Waukegan on Tuesday. The Bison (8-16) were led on offense by Sam Hansen (2 doubles), Bailey Williams (5 RBI) and Olivia Morini (3 RBI). Read Story

1. What is your name? David Garst
2. What department have you/do you work in and what do you do? Math/Science Department / AP Statistics and Algebra.
3. How long have you been working at BG? I have been at BGHS for 4 years.
4. Where did you go to high school? Rolling Meadows High School...class of '97!!!
5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? I love the moment when something that seems so hard to understand for a student makes sense in a way that it never leaves them after they see it in such a clear way!
6. What is something unique about you? If I could be really good at something I'd choose long distance ski jumping because it looks so bold, controlled, thrilling, and freeing for them all at one time. I'm not sure I'll ever try it, but it's a secret dream of mine!
7. What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? Math team is my club of choice.
