Friday Focus: Harper College Art Show
This week, several of our talented art students were selected to participate in the annual Harper College Art Show. Congratulations to our Harper Art Show Finalists! In 2D art, 1st place went to Emily Montes, 2nd place to Angella Lee, and 3rd place to Alexander Kranz. 2D Honorable Mentions went to Jack Samson, Katrin Svadlena, Madeline Dracopoulos, Paulina Zalewska, Jennifer Klimowicz, and Jacob Schoen. In 3D art, 1st place went to John Weon, Julia Neimark, and Priscilla Yuan. 3D 2nd place went to Melanie Reitman.
Celebrating Our Success!
- Congratulations to our Bison Bowlers, beating a hard working Prospect squad 27-0 on all three levels!
- Shout out to our Blue Crew members demonstrating the Bison Way by delivering Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving morning. Nice work!
- Congrats to Varsity Football player, Sean Jacobs, on being selected as Honorable Mention All-State for the 2018 season.
- Congrats to our 2018 All-area Football players, Connor Adams and Sean Jacobs.
- Congrats to Seniors Sean Ouimet, Janelle Finton and Andy Gontko who performed at the ILMEA District 7 Jazz Festival!
- Congratulations to our DECA students who were very successful at the District DECA competition on November 16. We had 121 students compete: 37 Overall Medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd), 62 Role Play Medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd), 21 Economic Test Medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Total medals that hung around those necks: 120! We are beyond proud of all our students who participated as well as the ones who medaled. But more importantly proud of all 121 of them who carried themselves with great class in representing BGHS. #thebisonway

Buffalo Grove 54, Naperville Central 43: Buffalo Grove freshman Kam Craft continued to impress in his first week on varsity, dropping 28 points to lead the Bison over Naperville Central. Michael Nowakowski also chipped in 12 points for the Bison.
Buffalo Grove Wins Thriller Over Grayslake Central

Buffalo Grove boys basketball won the season opener in the Bison Classic, 79-75, over Grayslake Central after an outstanding performance by freshman Kam Craft. The 6-4 freshman scored 31 points in his high school debut to lead all scorers. Craft scored at least 5 points in each quarter and dropped 12 points in the fourth quarter, showing the poise of a senior, not a new player, making his debut. Craft and Nate Cole (27 points, 4 3-pointers) combined for 58 points overall, but most importantly, 22 points in the fourth quarter. Read Story
Freshman Craft hits for 31 as Buffalo Grove downs Grayslake Central

Freshman Kam Craft scored 31 points in his varsity debut as Buffalo Grove won a barnburner 79-75 over Grayslake Central on the first day of the Bison boys basketball Thanksgiving tournament Monday. Junior Nate Cole added 27 points, including some big shots at the end, as BG held off a Rams rally. Read Story

Staff Spotlight
1. What is your name? Matt Priban
2. What department have you/do you work in? I am in the Math/Science Department. I teach 3 classes: Honors Algebra II (480-481), Advanced Algebra (474-475), and Algebra 1 (462-463).
3. How long have you been working at BG? This is my 10th year at BG.
4. Where did you go to high school? Niles North High School.
5. What part of teaching at BG do you find the most rewarding? I enjoy the connections I make with my students and watching them grow throughout the year.

6. What is something unique about you? I am a twin. We did everything together growing up and are still really close now. Even though we are fraternal (and I'm significantly taller), people still have trouble telling us apart.
7. What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I am currently the Head Girls Volleyball Coach. I have also coached Wrestling for many years at BG.
