Staff Spotlight

What is your name? Brittney Taylor Lindesmith

What department do you work in? Math/Science

How long have you been working at BG? I have been working here since the last week of July, so roughly 4 months.

Where did you go to high school? Cambridge Jr. Sr. High School ( Cambridge Illinois)

What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? The most rewarding part to me is being able to connect and help students/staff. Even though I am not a teacher I have come to know a few students who are usually quiet but will talk non stop with me. I love being able to help not only my department, but if I can help elsewhere as well it makes my day brighter. The feeling of being like a family is the best way to describe what the most rewarding part of working here is.

What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast?  I am currently re-reading the book City of Bones series of The Mortal Instruments. Cassandra Clare is my favorite author :)

What is something unique about you? Something unique about me would be that I love to paint and draw, mostly watercolor and graphite. I started college as an art major.

What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor?  What activities at BG do you follow? I am still learning all the activities and clubs so I haven't gotten there quite yet. I do hope to get into some soon though!

BGHS in the News

Buffalo Grove's defense shuts down Jacobs

The Daily Herald, December 1, 2021

You don't get assists on defense in basketball. But don't tell that to Buffalo Grove girls basketball coach Martha Kelly. She practically wanted to invent a hoops statistic -- let's call it an 'S.O.S' number, for fun -- after BG's 43-31 nonconference defeat of visiting Jacobs on Wednesday night. Read Story

Buffalo Grove hangs on to down Grant

The Daily Herald, November 30, 2021

With a 49-29 lead after three quarters, it looked like host Buffalo Grove was going to cruise to victory Tuesday night in nonconference boys basketball action against Grant. But the visiting Bulldogs put together an unlikely 19-3 run to cut the Bison's lead to 52-48 with 2:09 to play as Buffalo Grove was in danger of completely squandering the big lead. Read Story

Feasting on Thanksgiving leftovers before conference play begins

The Daily Herald, December 2, 2021

Buffalo Grove: The Bison went 1-2 in their tournament. Adidas Davis stepped up nicely for BG, averaging 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Sophomore Connor Woodin had 7 3-pointers in the tourney while Jacob Heinrich averaged 14 points, including a 20-point performance against Crete-Monee. "We showed a lot of promise, and I was very pleased with how we carried over what we worked on during the preseason to the games," coach Keith Peterson said. Read Story

Buffalo Grove begins MSL season with 2 wins

The Daily Herald, December 3, 2021

Undermanned Buffalo Grove got its 2021-202 conference season off to a flying start Thursday night with victories over Hoffman Estates and host Palatine on opening night in the MSL. The Bison, who were forced to concede 24 points with forfeits in four weight divisions, still managed to claim a hard fought 39-36 victory over Hoffman Estates in its opener, then won five of its last six bouts to overwhelm Palatine 48-30 to close out its successful evening.
