Bison Boosters Annual Spring Fundraiser
The Bison Booster Athletic Parent Organization is hosting their annual Spring Fundraiser on March 5th from 7pm-10:30pm at Rep's Place at 3200 Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows.
The evening consists of live music, raffles, silent auction, food and great camaraderie with fellow Bison parents and staff. It is a great way to meet other parents while supporting the 30 different sports programs of BGHS. All are welcome to attend. Tickets are on sale now, and are only $35 through February 5th. Congratulations to ILMEA All-Staters Spencer Sadler (Honors All-State Orchestra), Holden Wheeler (All-State Choir), and Charlie Morrison (Honors All-State Choir). Bernie the Bison did not qualify this year.

We are excited to offer the following Skills Development Sessions before and after school to support success for all students:
Test prep and study skills
Stress management and organization
Note taking/annotating skills
Vocabulary building strategies
Sessions begin on February 9, 2022. Please note that afternoon sessions (not listed on the flyer) were added for the Note Taking/Annotating and Time and Stress Management/Organizational Planning sessions. There is no cost to attend any of these sessions.

What is your name? Megan Struck
What department do you work in/ How long have you been working at BG? I am a Nurse in the Health Office. I started in November 2021
Where did you go to high school? I went to Rolling Meadows High School
What part of being a School Nurse do you find the most rewarding? I enjoy being able to help students with their health concerns, so they can be successful at school.
What new thing have you learned this year as a School Nurse? After working as a Nurse in a hospital for 20 years, there have been plenty of new things for me to learn this year as a School Nurse. So far a big focus has been on Covid and keeping up to date with the guidance from CDC/ IDPH.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I'm currently reading a book called Educated, by Tara Westover. I enjoy reading memoirs and autobiographies.
What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? None currently.
What is something unique about you? I have enjoyed learning about gardening the last couple years. I love to spend time at the Botanic Gardens and going on garden walks. I'm spending this winter planning what I would like to do in my garden this spring.

Buffalo Grove grad dances into breakthrough acting role

In 2021, Rachel Kim's career took a big leap forward -- so to speak. Kim is a professional actor and dancer, and a 2014 graduate of Buffalo Grove High School, who made her network television debut in September on Fox's comedy "The Big Leap." She played Miriam, one of the amateur dancers who enter a reality show competition to cast a modern production of "Swan Lake." At Buffalo Grove, Rachel was a member of the Buffalo Grove High School orchestra and Orchesis dance group. After high school, she spent some time at college and working in the L.A. area. Read Story
