Friday Focus: One Grove Gallery to welcome renowned Chicago artist and illustrator, Cori Lin
One Grove Gallery is honored to showcase Chicago artist and illustrator, Cori Lin. She comes to us through Jeanne Shin-Cooper's work with Full Spectrum Education and the TEEACH Act highlighting ways to implement AAPI history into the curriculum. Her work will be in the gallery until January 30th. She will be talking about her work and answering questions after school on the 30th in the One Grove Gallery from 3:00-4:00 pm, if you'd like to join us. You can check out more about Cori Lin HERE.
About the artist:
Cori (she/her) is descended from east asian island peoples, and was born and raised in the midwest. Her art roots Asian American folks in collective struggle by visualizing marginalized narratives and illuminating concepts of abolition, community care, and generational curse-breaking. By pushing us to imagine future(s) beyond this current dimension, Cori makes art that fuels action. Her work has been published in the LA Times, WBEZ Chicago, PBS Education materials, and on the History Channel. She most recently illustrated her sister Jami Nakamura Lin’s speculative memoir, The Night Parade, published in October 2023 from Mariner Books/HarperCollins. Cori organizes in her communities with Nikkei Uprising.
