Friday Focus:
The American Chemical Society (ACS) National Awards program is designed to encourage the advancement of chemistry in all its branches, to support research in chemical science and industry, and to promote the careers of chemists. On Friday, September 16, Kate Goebel, one of our Chemistry teachers, will receive the Chicago Section ACS Teacher Excellence Award in honor of her outstanding work and extraordinary accomplishments in chemical sciences and chemical education.

BG JV golfers take advantage of another spectacular day at home course vs. Fremd. Sami, Monika, Zoe, Zosia, Sara and Alexia shoot personal best rounds of the year. Great momentum headed into the Conference Meet!

What is your name? Cathy Fiarito Moran
What department have you/do you work in? I am the Division Assistant in the Math/Science Department.
How long have you been working at BG? Since August 4th, so I’m a Rookie!
Where did you go to high school/ college? I went to Maine West High School in Des Plaines and Harper College.
What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? When people ask me how my new job is going, my first response is how great the staff is, on every level, everyone is so nice.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I am currently reading Zero Fail The Rise and Fall of The Secret Service by Carol Leonnig.
What is something unique about you? I have a benign freckle on my lip that used to drive my Mother crazy!
What’s a bucket list item for you? I want to go to Banff National Park in Canada.
