Friday Focus: BG Hosts Multicultural Fair
This week, our main foyer was transformed into a lively atmosphere celebrating the many cultures represented at Buffalo Grove High School. Students were able to learn about different cultures from their peers firsthand. Interactive displays including food, music, face painting and salsa dancing were among the highlights.
The Bison Impact:
Congratulations to BG’s very own Mike Garofola on his induction into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches & Officials Association Hall of Fame. The induction took place on April 16th, and recognized Mike for his lifetime commitment of excellence in the field of high school sports journalism. We are very proud of Mike for this tremendous achievement!
Congratulations to junior Vuk Dejkovic for winning the World Championship with the USA Jr Coed Cheerleading Team! Vuk was selected to represent the United States on the National Junior Coed Cheerleading Team and competed at the World Championship this week in Orlando, Florida. He is one of only 34 kids selected for the USA National Team.
Congratulations to the ACES (Academic Challenge in Engineering Sciences) team on their 3rd place finish at the State finals at Eastern Illinois University. This is the best finish in school history! Congratulations to Priya Adiga, Krystle Bernales, Dominik Berrios, Nick Fedchuk, Rohan Ganeshan, Ashlin Monish, Artur Mullagaliyev, Shane Obrecht, Lucas Pasdo, Anthony Safonov, Nikolay Sitnikov, and Kayle Tse. Congratulations to Shane Obrecht (5th place English), Priya Adiga (3rd place Math), Nikolay Sitnikov (2nd place Computer Science). Special congratulations to Rohan Ganeshan, the State Champion in Chemistry and to Lucas Pasdo, the State Champion in Physics!

Summer School Information
D214 has a new summer school program, the D214 Summer Experience. Registration for Summer Experience 2023 is open. A how-to video has been created to help families navigate the registration system, WATCH IT HERE. To register, you will need your student’s D214 student ID number, student’s date of birth, household zip code, and the student’s school. The registration system is mobile-friendly, so you can register anywhere with any device. Please check your email for detailed information from the D214 Academic Programs & Pathways Team that will answer many questions you might have.
