Friday Focus:  Class of 2028 explores electives

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 8th graders from the Class of 2028 to BGHS to get a taste of high school electives. Students enjoyed touring and exploring various elective options during the school day, such as computers, autos, manufacturing, foods, entrepreneurship, foreign languages and more!

Help support students in need

It is that time of year, where we could really use your help in supporting our students in need. There are two different ways you can help. As the weather begins to turn, many of our families are in need of groceries and household supplies. If you would like to donate gift cards, we would ask that you purchase them from Aldi or Target for either $10 or $25. Once you purchase them, you can either drop them off at Door 1 to a member of our Campus Security Staff or place them in our secure Drop Box outside Door 6. Another option to help our families is by making donations to our Comfort Closet.  If you would like to help in this manner, please purchase items from this list:

  • Shampoo and Conditioner

  • Bar Soap

  • Deodorant

  • Toothpaste

  • Toothbrushes

  • Facial Cleanser

  • Laundry Detergent

Drop those items off at Door 1 during regular school hours. There will be a box there for you to place your bags containing the items. We thank you for your consideration in helping our students and families of the Buffalo Grove High School Community.  We will be accepting gift cards and Comfort Closet donations through December 19th.  Thank you again.

Bison in the News

Girls basketball: Scouting Cook County

The Daily Herald, November 16, 2023

Worth noting: With a number of returning players and the addition of some talented young players, the Bison are looking to make some noise this winter. The Bison are traditionally strong on defense and hope to continue that trend. "We will be challenged as we are every year with a strong schedule (including their own Bison Classic that plays host to Libertyville, Carmel, Maine South, Hersey and Barrington among others)," said Kelly, who led the Bison softball team to the MSL East crown last spring.

Boys basketball: Scouting Cook County

The Daily Herald, November 21, 2023

Worth noting: The Bison are looking to make a move this season in the East. Woodin, who was the MSL golf medalist, will be looking to shoot as well on the hardwood as he did on the fairways. Brosnahan will be back after missing most of last season with a leg injury. Anam-Ndu has drawn some D-3 interest. Keep an eye on 6-foot-5 freshman Sirbu, who could make a huge step forward this season. "We are looking to be competitive in the East," Gledon said. "And hoping to play our best basketball when the state series begins." Read Story
