Friday Focus:  Open House Thursday August 29

Parents/Guardians are cordially invited to attend our Fall Open House on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Overflow Parking available at Longfellow School. We will have two components to the evening, the first running from 6:00pm - 6:50pm with targeted presentations on academic information and student support. The traditional Open House format of walking your child’s schedule and hearing from their teacher will occur from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

At 6:00 p.m. We will begin the evening with two targeted parent information sessions:

  • Academic and Social Emotional Supports for students will take place in the Library at 6:00-6:20 and repeated from 6:30-6:50

  • Career Pathways, Center for Career Discovery, AP and Dual Credit Courses will take place in the Theater 6:00-6:20 and repeated from  6:30-6:50.

Each session will be 20 minutes in length and will run twice so that parents may attend both sessions.

Language assistance in Spanish and Ukrainian/Russian will be available in the Staff Lounge from 6-7pm for parents.

At 7:00 pm we will begin a shortened version of the class schedule. Our format will have parents follow their student's daily schedule in an abbreviated school day. Counselors will be presenting every block in the Theater.  Please drop in during an open period. CLICK HERE for the Open House schedule and information

How does my student pay for lunch?

How do I add funds to my student’s account?

We had a few questions about lunch this week, so we would like to provide some more detailed information. First of all, students are always welcome to bring their own lunch. If a student would like to purchase a meal, in general breakfast is $2.50 and lunch is $4.00 daily. A variety of a la carte and vending items are also available for purchase. You can view the weekly menus, learn more about online food service prepay, and find Meal Benefit Applications on the Buffalo Grove High School website under Parents, then Food Services, or CLICK HERE.

If you would like to apply for free or reduced-price meals, please complete the meal benefits application online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal under the More/Meal Benefits Tab or print out a hard copy and return it to us by mail. If you do not have parent access to Infinite Campus, please contact our helpdesk at bghshelpdesk@d214.org or call 847-718-4222.

Click here for online application instructions: [English] [Spanish]

Payments can be made at school or online at MySchoolBucks.com. Your student can also add funds to their account by cash or check payable to your student's school cafeteria using this Food Service Prepay Form. Hand it in to any food service cashier. Payments made using checks or cash will be credited to your student’s account by the next business day. Payments made using credit cards at MySchoolBucks.com are generally credited to your student’s account within 24 hours.

Please also be aware that the Fee Waiver process has changed for the 2024-25 school year. It is a separate form and process from the Meal Benefits Application.
