Friday Focus:
A new One Grove Gallery virtual art show premiered this week. Our very talented Art 1 and Photo 1 students did an amazing job, especially considering they were all working remotely first semester. We celebrate their successes and hard work with this show on the gallery website. Check it out HERE.

Congratulations to our Model UN on winning multiple awards at the Chicago International MUN Conference. This is a very competitive event and the first time BG has won multiple awards. Please congratulate: senior Justin Wytmar for winning Honorable Mention by representing the New York Times (Click HERE to see Justin’s work); junior Ari Duvel for winning Outstanding Delegate for enacting the part of VP CFO Gulfstream of General Dynamics Corp; sophomore Holden Wheeler for winning Outstanding Delegate for enacting the part of EVP Rotary and Missions Systems of Boeing.

Join the V-Show!
Student Council is hosting its annual Variety Show this Spring! One of the goals of this year's show is to feature talent from across the broad spectrum of cultures and backgrounds at BG. Dance, ventriloquism, magic, comedy, singing, lip synching, weird pet tricks... (almost) all talents are welcome. We will be doing a hybrid performance, so students will have an opportunity to perform live or create a video performance from home with our assistance.

What is your name? Peter Gajzler
What department do you teach in/ How long have you been teaching at BG? This is my 4th year teaching at Buffalo Grove in the PE department.
Where did you go to high school? I graduated from Wheeling High School
What part of teaching do you find the most rewarding? I love helping students reach their goals.
What new thing have you learned this year teaching remotely? I have learned that a virtual thumbs up is one of the best forms of "non-verbal" communication.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? Recently, I've been listening to the "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend" podcast.
What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I coach girl's basketball and volleyball at BG and boys volleyball at Wheeling
What is something unique about you? I am unofficially the tallest teacher at BG.
