Friday Focus - Students in Project Lead the Way, our engineering career pathway, tested their buoyancy products in the pool today. It was exciting to watch how far each group was able to stay dry!
Project Lead The Way has several offerings in the area of engineering, including courses on Introduction to Engineering and Design, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Principles of Engineering, and Civil Engineering and Architecture.

BG Orchesis is one of eleven schools chosen to perform in our Illinois High School Student Showcase at Lyons Township on April 30. The Audition in front of Chicago area Professional Judges was this past weekend. The dance entitled Diverging Paths is choreographed by senior Annee Welbel. This is quite an honor. So Proud of BG Orchesis and 214 Dancers!!!!!
Congratulations to Jack Delattre on his 22nd place finish in State in Diving! This is his second time competing at state in his three year career!

Congratulations to BG parent volunteers, Jeanne and Dave Cleary, recipients of the 2016 District 214 Distinguished Service Award. Jeanne and Dave have worked as Bison Booster President for the past two years of their decade long service to Buffalo Grove High School. Jeanne and Dave are always willing to go above and beyond in all circumstances for the betterment of our Bison, creating a culture of community and Bison pride. We are honored to recognize the Clearys for their dedication and service.

Lots of love for Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold winners

Several were recognized Saturday night at the village's 18th annual ceremony that honors residents and business leaders in 11 categories for their commitment to the community. Hersey High School math teacher Jackie Ballarini won the Educator Heart of Gold. Buffalo Grove High School junior Danielle Allaire received the Young Champion Heart of Gold. Read story

1.What is your name? Karen Roberts
2. What department do you teach in/ what courses do you teach? I teach in the CTE division and currently teach Introduction to Business and Entrepreneurship. In the past, I have taught Personal Finance, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Business Management, College Business, Information Processing, Computer Applications, and Introduction to Computers.
3. How long have you been teaching at BG? This is my 16th year at BG, and my 21st year of teaching.
4. Where did you go to high school? I went to Hersey High School.
5. What part of teaching do you find the most rewarding? Building positive relationships with my students and experiencing all the "a-ha" moments with them.
6. What is something unique about you? I started playing softball when I was 10 and there hasn't been a season that I have not played since (from park district, to travel, to high school, to college & throughout my adult life). My current team consists of some of my teammates from Hersey High School---yes we were MSL Conference Champs back then! :)
7. What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? Currently, I am a DECA Business Club Sponsor. During my time at BG, I have coached volleyball and served as a Class Sponsor for a number of years.
