Friday Focus:
This week we celebrated the careers of nine BGHS 2021 retirees: Teresa Deal (Special Education Teacher), Jordie Field (Art Teacher), Kimberley Gach (English Teacher), Cindy Igyarto (Administrative Assistant to the Associate Principal of Operations), Chet Pierce (Math/Science Teacher), Daniel Sanchez (1st Shift Building Maintenance), Arlene Sikora (Math/Science Division Assistant), Stacy Wodka (Nurse), and Carlos Valdez (2nd Shift Maintenance). Their many years of dedication and service to Buffalo Grove High School are greatly appreciated and we will miss them all.

Buffalo Grove and Barrington Scholastic Bowl teams head to the NAQT National Quiz Bowl Tournament this weekend and CBS 2 Chicago shared the excitement! You can watch the interview HERE. Good luck at Nationals!
Congratulations to the Baseball team, your 2021 MSL East champs! The Bison defeated Prospect 8-2 and will represent the east in the MSL title game tonight against Barrington HS.
Once again talented BGHS photography students’ work will be included in the 2021 Perspective Gallery Student Perspectives exhibit. The students' works were chosen from over 270 images that were submitted and were juried by Sasha Phyars-Burgess from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. What is your name? Kymberly B. Corbett
What department have you/ do you work in? I currently work in the Athletic Office, but I started in the Attendance Office.
How long have you been working at BG? 23 years
Where did you go to high school? Notre Dame Academy in Waterbury, Connecticut
What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? I love working with the student athletes. It is busy and fun all year, but the best is when our teams go to regionals, sectionals, and state. They work so hard all season and then to have it all payoff with a trophy. There is always an excitement in the air the day of a big game.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast?
Keeping with Asian/Pacific Islander Month, I am reading Saving Fish From Drowning by Amy Tan. She is also the author of The Joy Luck Club.
What is something unique about you? I am from New England. I drink from a "bubbler" not a water fountain.
What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I coach JV2 Bowling. I have been scoring water polo matches since its first year in 2003.

Buffalo Grove High School held the senior prom outdoors Saturday, with scores of teens dressed up for the “Masquerade” held at Grant Blaney Stadium on the school campus. May 22. Baseball: Buffalo Grove topples Prospect to become unlikely MSL East champ
