Friday Focus:  BG Hosts Annual Media Day

Buffalo Grove High School is excited to host the annual District 214 Media Day (formally Journalism Day) today. Media Day brings media students from all of the District 214 schools together to listen to keynote speakers, collaborate with other schools, share knowledge and skills and build camaraderie across the district.

We welcomed award-winning Keynote speaker, Esther Yoon-Ji Kang, a Northwestern grad and currently a reporter on Race, Class, and Communities at WBEZ in Chicago. Prior to her work with WBEZ, she served as a breaking news producer for the Chicago Tribune and editor of Chicago magazine. She has also taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses at Northwestern University.

New exhibit featured in One Grove Gallery

We are honored to have photographer Joseph Peabody share his artwork with us in the One Grove Gallery this month. Mr. Peabody is a Chicago photographer and Emergency Physician who captures the beauty that surrounds us. Capturing mostly the city and suburbs of Chicago, he hopes to shed light on all the beauty that surrounds us. For him, photography is about celebrating all the beauty that life has to offer; a way to capture the special moments, wonders, and people in our lives and preserve them to be cherished for years to come. All are invited to attend a reception on Tuesday, March 14th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the One Grove Gallery. Stop by the reception and check out the exhibit before enjoying the Concert Band Festival in the theater at 7:00 pm. The show will be up until April 2nd. For more information about his work please visit his website HERE and instagram page HERE.
