BGHS Junior heads to the floor of the U.S. Senate
One Buffalo Grove High School junior will be spending the rest of the school year on Capitol Hill. Yes, that one—in Washington, D.C.
Alina Hussain got interested in government and policymaking during three years on the BGHS Model U.N. team and after an internship last summer at a law firm. Surfing the internet for ideas about what to do with her upcoming summer, and thinking about something related to political science, she came across the U.S. Senate Page Program—and decided to apply.
“I came across the Page Program and thought—I really want to try to do this,” Alina said. Read more about Alina’s story HERE.

Junior Bisonettes Winter Dance Camp & Performance
Friday, February 9th 4-7pm
The Bisonette Poms/Competitive Dance Program is hosting a kiddie clinic on Friday, February 9th from 4:00-7:00 pm. In addition to learning a dance that will be performed at our halftime basketball games that night, participants will receive a t-shirt and two tickets to the game. Spread the word to the community!

What is your name? My name is Adryana Verduzco
What department do you work in? I work in the LIbrary as an assistant.
How long have you been working at BG? This is my first year at BG
Where did you go to high school/ college? I went to school in Mexico. My school name is CBTIS #94.
What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? Helping the students is very rewarding for me.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I am reading Burro Genius from Victor Villaseñor. My favorite author is Garcia Marqueez.
What is something unique about you? Something unique about me would be that I love learning from other cultures, their customs, their foods, games, ect.
What’s a bucket list item for you? I want to travel to Europe and as many different countries as possible.

Junior Class Board Dengeos Fundraiser - Take 2!
Due to the weather conditions during the last fundraiser, the Junior Class Board is doing another Dengeos fundraiser TODAY from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm! Mention the fundraiser at the register and Dengeos will donate 20% of their sales to the Junior Class Board. Don't forget to mention the BGHS when ordering in-person or on the phone. For online orders, be sure to go to the "Dining for Dollars" tab and add that fundraiser item to your order to have proceeds accounted for.

The BGPA Scholarship Application is now open
Application Deadline - April 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm
The Buffalo Grove High School Parent Association (“BGPA”) and donor Mrs. Jackie Sell are pleased to award scholarships to recognize the achievement of our students. The winners will be selected based on school and community involvement, leadership, motivation, and academics, as well as a compelling personal essay. All graduating BGHS Class of 2024 seniors are eligible for this scholarship. Additionally, scholarship Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary or technical school as a full-time or part-time student and must meet District 214’s requirements to participate in and to be awarded a diploma at commencement in 2024. The Scholarship is an outright gift and will be announced and disbursed at the Principal’s Awards Assembly on May 13, 2024.
All applications will be reviewed with complete anonymity. The completed application (with required signatures) must be received in the BGHS College/Career Center by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. All decisions made by BGPA will be final. Any application not submitted with required signatures by the 4:00 pm on April 2, 2024, will be rejected. CLICK HERE to apply

Each year college scholarships are awarded through the Thomas Middle School Pride of the Wolf Pack organization to college bound high school seniors who graduated from Thomas Middle School. Applications are due by March 1, 2024.
