Friday Focus:
BG Student soaring to new heights with D214 internship
Buffalo Grove HIgh School senior, Xavier Lipani, is currently participating in a media internship with a company called Helicopters Inc, as part of District 214’s Multimedia Career Pathway. Helicopters, Inc. contracts with local media outlets to film traffic, accidents, scenes of the city, and more. They work with CBS, NBC, ABC and other networks. Xavier has been riding with them and they are teaching him how to film. This week, he got to fly over BGHS! (To clarify, he does not actually FLY the helicopter, he goes up and does filming with them). He even took a photo of Principal Wardle, media teacher Stefanie McCleish and the main office staff that went out to greet him as he flew over BGHS! District 214’s Center for Career Discovery provides students with customized career-related activities and work-based learning experiences to support career exploration and future goals. Students interested in finding out more about internship opportunities can visit Ms. Christy Lenzini in the College and Career Center. CLICK HERE for more information on the District 214 internship program. The deadline to apply for summer internships is February 28th. The deadline to apply for fall internships is April 30th.
