Anthony Palano commits to D1 South Dakota State
Congratulations to senior Anthony Palano on signing his official letter of intent this week to continue his football career at South Dakota State University! Anthony was also recognized this week by the District 214 Board of Education for being named to the IHSFCA 7A All-State Team. He is also a two time Academic All-State player. Fight on!

Congratulations to the JV Wrestling team on capturing another championship at the 15 team Ben Jansky Tournament last weekend at Antioch Community High School!
Congratulations to the Freshmen Wrestling team on winning their first championship at the 14 team Larkin tournament in Elgin last weekend!
Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team on their 2nd place finish at the Reinstein Varsity Tournament in the Über-Competitive Division last weekend! 71 teams from throughout the state (and from as far as Georgia!) attended and had a great day of quizbowl!
Congratulations to Scholastic Bowl’s Rohan Ganeshan on being the top individual player in the Reinstein Varsity tournament Über-Competitive division! Rohan buzzed for 143 points per 20 toss ups heard, compared to the next closest individual score of 74 PP20TH.
Congratulations to the Frosh/Soph Boys Swimming and Diving team! They battled all the way to the end to pull out a 2 point win over Hersey at the invite last weekend!
Congratulations to the Coed Cheerleading team on their 2nd place finish out of 20 teams at the Coed Challenge at Belvidere North High School last Friday!

What is your name? Christy Lenzini
What department do you work in? Student Services, specifically, the College and Career Center. I am the Student Success Coach.
How long have you been working at BG? 4 months
Where did you go to high school/ college? I went to Maine South High School and then I went to Butler University in Indianapolis, IN
What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding? I find it very rewarding to meet with students and talk with them about their future plans after graduation. I love getting to know these students.
What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I love the author Matt Haig who wrote "The Humans" and "The Midnight Library". I love his dry sense of humor.
What is something unique about you? I played collegiate volleyball
What’s a bucket list item for you? I've visited many of our National Parks but none in California. I would love to see them all someday!

One Grove Gallery lamp exhibit illuminates student learning and creativity
The Daily Herald, December 20, 2023
Teacher: “Okay, your mission is to create a lamp base and shade using a 1- by 2-foot sheet of plywood and tissue paper, applying what we’ve learned.”
Students: “Great, what other materials can we use?”
Teacher: “None.”
Students: “None? You want us to build a lamp using nothing but plywood and tissue paper?”
Teacher: “You’ve got it. Let’s get started.”
And so they did. Buffalo Grove High School students took this learning challenge from technology teacher Nicholas Schaefer and ran with it - creating wonderfully unique lamps that have been on display in the school’s One Grove Gallery. Read Story
