Friday Focus: 34 DECA Students Compete at State!
Buffalo Grove High School is so proud of our 34 DECA students that qualified for the State competition! Yesterday we celebrated the following students yesterday as they were sent off to compete at State: Matthew Allaire, Emily Antonetti, Peter Baker, Justin Brosnahan, Justin Dahl, Daniel Feder, Matthew Feder, Allison Finn, Lola Geraghty, Angelica Groszek, Alan Ilinskiy, Zoyia Khan, Minjin Khuchitbaatar, Audrey Kim, Erin Knauf, Katrin Kostanyan, Anna Lang, Olivia Larkowski, Isabella Larkowski, Sam Lender, Veronika Manukian, Anusha Patel, Audrey Ro, Ally Robertson, Athan Rodrigues, Devin Roser, Ranae Roy, Karanvir Saini, Niyati Sharma, Ryan Stefani, Faith Thomas, Maxwell Turner, Andrea Yeverino, and Christine Yuan!

The Bison Impact:
Big congratulations to the NJROTC cadets who pulled off a HUGE upset this weekend by winning the biggest drill competition in the Midwest, Area 3 Drill Championships! 14 teams competed and the last time it was won by District 214 NJROTC was 1992. Our BG cadets were no short of OUTSTANDING. Shout out to BG’s Jillian Witt for commanding some events that helped secure the win!
Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team on going 11-0 to beat ALL of the best teams in Illinois to win the National Academic Quiz Bowl’s Illinois State Tournament at Champaign Centennial! Congratulations to Rohan Ganeshan on earning 1st place individual honors at NAQT State!
Congratulations to Wrestler Julianna Conroy! Our first ever girls wrestling place winner! She wrestled tough back to 5th place at the State competition!
Congratulations to Diver Holden Wheeler on finishing 8th in State at the IHSA State Finals!
Congrats to a cappella group “Major Detour” on placing 3rd at the ICHSA Great Lakes QuarterFinals over the weekend! Special congratulations to Charlie Morrison honored as “Best Vocal Percussionist”!
Congratulations to BG Model UN award winners Zach Duvel (Outstanding Delegate) and Mia Roque (Honorable Mention) on their success at the LYMUN conference on Saturday!
Congratulations to BG’s Jazz Ensemble on placing 2nd at the famed “Jazz in the Meadows” last weekend!
Congratulations to the JV Scholastic Bowl on taking 2nd place at the Kaneland Cereal Bowl Tournament!

District 214 Robot Rumble a smashing good time

Teens from Northwest Suburban High School District 214 came together in a darkened gymnasium in the back of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights Saturday to destroy their competition. The robots battled each other under colored spotlights in a plexiglass ring, while the teens controlling them stood outside the ring. There were 38 teams from 14 different schools, all hoping to bring home the top spot. Read Story

The Buffalo Grove High School Parent Association (“BGPA”) and donor Mrs. Jackie Sell are pleased to award scholarships to recognize the achievement of our students.
