Friday Focus:  Teacher Ami Relf wins Hometown Dream Weaver Award

Buffalo Grove High School is extremely proud to announce that teacher Ami Relf is the recipient of the Hometown Dream Weaver Award! Ami is a tireless advocate for BIPOC students at Buffalo Grove High School, District 214, the State of Illinois, and even internationally. On Saturday, April 2, 2022, Ami was recognized with the “Hometown Dream Weaver Award” by Operation Uplift. This award is given for outstanding achievements in international youth education and African-American youth activism. This major award is dedicated to the memory of two Fallen Pillars of this work: Mrs. Mattie Robinson and Mrs. Jean Wheeler, both taken away too soon as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This event also memorialized all who were lost during the pandemic but have not been forgotten. We are very proud of Ami and grateful for her support of our youth. Congratulations Ami!

Bison in the News

Boys volleyball: Buffalo Grove edges host Conant in title match

The Daily Herald, April 2, 2022

It had to be a shock to the system for fans and players exiting Conant at the conclusion of Saturday's varsity boys volleyball invitational. Snowflakes the size of silver dollars and near white-out conditions greeted the throng, a typical example of Chicagoland's crazy April weather. Inside the gym, however, Buffalo Grove, Conant, Lemont and St. Francis had found a way to heat things up. Buffalo Grove won the tournament championship with a thrilling 3-set win over Conant, while Lemont went to 3 games as well to win the 3rd place match against the Spartans.  Read Story
