Staff Spotlight - César Rosales

Staff Member of the week: César Rosales

What is your name? César Fernando Rosales

What department do you work in/ How long have you been teaching at BG? I am the new DHSSSW (Division Head of Student Success, Safety & Wellness.)

Where did you go to high school/ college? I attended Dundee Crown High School and went to Northern Illinois University. I received my Master's Degree from Concordia University.

What part of your job do you find the most rewarding? I enjoy working with the students and helping them find their own path. It always makes me smile whenever I run into students outside of the school setting and they recognize each other. It is amazing when students enjoy what they do and grow into productive and successful adults.

What’s a bucket list item for you? I would like to visit the New Seven Wonders of the World. I have visited one of those wonders and hope to get to all of them. I believe that traveling is the best way to see how humans are all connected with people of all backgrounds. It helps us grow as a society and individuals.

What are you currently reading, and/ or do you have a favorite author or podcast? I am a fan of the Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Stuff You Should Know podcasts. It is interesting how there are so many things you know about, but have no idea how they work or what really occurred. The podcast gives great insight into and is informational and witty.

What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? What is something unique about you? I am a foodie! I love trying all kinds of new and interesting foods! I will never say no to trying anything. I always enjoy experiencing food from all over. This is also a reason why I love to travel, to experience things we normally wouldn't find in our local hometowns.

Need a job that works with your kid’s schedule?
