Attention seniors: Applications for this year's BGPA scholarships are now available in the College & Career Center. All applications are due no later than Friday, April 1, 2016.



Reminder - Parents of Student Athletes:
On Thursday, April 14th John Underwood will be returning and spending the day at Buffalo Grove High School with our student athletes, parents, and coaches. You are invited to attend John Underwood’s presentation for parents the evening of Thursday, April 14th from 7 to 8:30PM in the gym - Registration is required

Thursday, we celebrated Anthony Murat signing to play Water Polo for the Bearcats of McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois. Congratulations Anthony!







Congratulations to freshman, Karina Palffy, winner of the Consumer Science category at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science  competition last week!


Congratulations and good luck to our DECA state qualifiers as they head off to the state competition this weekend.

Buffalo Grove High's famed band director Jacobi to retire

Buffalo Grove High School band director Ed Jacobi was just 14, around the same age as his current students, when he made a decision that changed the course of his life. Encouraged by his dad to give summer band camp at Lane Tech High School in Chicago a try, Jacobi -- who had never picked up a trumpet -- joined the band and found his passion.  Read Story

Deep Roots in Music: Ed Jacobi comes from a musical family. His dad was a professional violinist, his mom was an accomplished pianist, his four younger siblings played instruments throughout college (two also are school band directors) and his two sons graduated with music education degrees from University of Illinois.  Read Story

1.What is your name?  Stacy Wodka


2. What is your role at BG?  I am the Certified School Nurse


3. How long have you been working at BG?  I have been at BGHS for 16 years and a Registered Nurse for 34 years.


4. Where did you go to high school?  Resurrection High School


5. What part of your job do you find the most rewarding?  Helping student's understand healthy choices and seeing them improve their health.


6. What is something unique about you?  I was on a team the won first place in a sand modeling contest in Chicago.  We made a lion.

7. What outside interests do you enjoy?  Traveling, biking and walking my dogs....
