Boys soccer:
Eloiza electrifies crowd with game winner for Buffalo Grove
The Daily Herald, September 29, 2017
A goal by Buffalo Grove's Kevin Eloiza two minutes into the second half sank Wheeling and helped settle an intense Mid-Suburban East divisional boys soccer match on Friday afternoon at Grant Blaney Stadium.  The 1-0 victory by the Bison (11-4-0, 8-1-0) inspired a raucous home crowd at the final whistle, and the win carried an extra edge as Eloiza's strike earned the home side 3 important points over the Wildcats, who entered the game tied for the East lead with BG at 21 points apiece.  Read Story

Buffalo Grove High School students crown classmates with Down syndrome king, queen

After Buffalo Grove High School student Amanda Ewald witnessed her first homecoming coronation, she was so taken by the experience that she told her mother how she was "going to be queen someday."  Her mother, Millie Ewald, recently recalled how she tried to temper her daughter's high aspirations."I remember telling Amanda, 'Being homecoming queen is not just something you do, people have to vote for you,'" Ewald said.  During Buffalo Grove High School's most recent homecoming coronation Sept. 22, Amanda, 18, who has Down syndrome, earned her crown. Buffalo Grove to stage 'Peter and the Starcatcher'

Buffalo Grove High School Theater Arts Program presents a new adaptation of the classic "Peter Pan" in its fall play, "Peter and the Starcatcher."  This century-old story of how a miserable orphan becomes the "Boy Who Would Not Grow Up" is retold with limitless possibilities of imagination. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12; 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13; 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14; and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Senior Justin Gold is playing his third year of varsity football at Buffalo Grove. His teammate, junior Carlos Salgado, is playing in only his second year of organized football.  Read Story

2. What department have you/do you work in and what do you do?  CTE: Technology Education. I teach Graphics, Media Technology and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

3. How long have you been working at BG? This is my first year teaching at Buffalo Grove High School.
4. Where did you go to high school?  I went to Schaumburg High School.

5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding?  I really enjoy seeing students' reactions after they have created something or finished a project. They get really excited and take a lot of pride in their projects knowing that it was their ideas and hard work that created them.
6. What is something unique about you? I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Schaumburg High School teaching Building Trades and Advanced Manufacturing.  

7.   What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I am working with the Next Generation of Engineer’s Explorations in Engineering after school program for middle school students and have been helping the Theater Techs prepare for the fall play. I hope to be more involved with all the productions in the future.
