Friday Focus -  Community Engagement

On Monday night, Zach Crandall and several students participated in the Village of Buffalo Grove Civics Forum, listening to several departments pitch their use of grant funds for a project, and the students themselves made the choice of who would receive the funds! Buffalo Grove in playoff shape after rallying to beat Rolling Meadows

Buffalo Grove senior Zack Sheasby's first time playing cornerback led to another first Friday night at Rolling Meadows: His first interception this season. Sheasby's 22-yard touchdown reception with 5 minutes, 37 seconds left capped the Bison's late comeback. Read Story

Some new faces in state playoff places

It is many of the the usual suspects -- joined by a pair of teams that had been in long postseason droughts -- in the Illinois High School Association football playoff pairings, which were announced Saturday. Barrington, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Hoffman Estates and St. Viator, all of which qualified last year, earned berths again this year. Also in are Maine West, which has not qualified since 2002 and Buffalo Grove, which has not qualified since 2003.  Read Story

Sheasby helps BG to win No. 8

Zach Sheasby had quite a fourth quarter Friday night at Rolling Meadows. First the Buffalo Grove senior caught a touchdown pass from his wide receiver position midway through the final period to give the Bison their first lead of the game.  Minutes later, now playing defensive back, Sheasby intercepted a Mustangs pass in BG territory to stop a Meadows drive.  Read Story

Boys soccer: Berk's goal is big as BG edges out Warren

Buffalo Grove sophomore Alex Berk picked a good time for his first goal of the season.  It was the only one in Wednesday night's Class AA Stevenson regional semifinal in Lincolnshire. Berk's tally and keeper Daniel Sempoch's 11 saves helped fifth-seeded Buffalo Grove edge No. 12 Warren 1-0.  Read Story

Staff Spotlight

1. What is your name?  Pattie Eakin

IMG_9227.jpg2. What department have you/do you work in and what do you do? I am in the Math Department.  I teach Honors Geometry, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Math Lab.

3. How long have you been working at BG?  This is my first year as a Bison!

4. Where did you go to high school?  I went to high school at Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Rutland Vermont...which likely makes me the first person you've met from The Green Mountain State!

5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding?  The challenge to change someone from "I hate math" to "That's so cool"...because let's face it, math IS the coolest subject!
6. What is something unique about you? A proud Buckeye, Hawk, and Tiger Family.  OSU educated me so that I can now share it all with Iowa and Mizzou...two years to go!  Life was already AMAZING and now it's even better being a Bison!
