 Friday Focus:

BGPA & Senior Class Board Sponsor Blood Drive

The BGPA and Senior Class Board are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Vitalant to host a blood drive on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. We feel great pride knowing that our school community will be doing their part to provide safe and ready access to life-saving blood products especially during this time of need. 38% of the population is eligible to donate blood. Fewer than 10% do so, which is a major problem for our country. Every day, many Americans depend on blood donations from generous donors for critical components of their medical care….It is truly the most personal natural resource.

This year, we have expanded opportunities for any student, staff or BGHS PARENT/GUARDIAN who would like to donate blood. Any student who donates blood will receive a certificate for a FREE PIZZA from Papa John's.

  1. There are assigned times so please RESERVE your slot today! CLICK HERE TO RESERVE YOUR TIME.

  2. Please note that there is a height and weight requirement associated with giving blood, so please take a moment to review prior to registering. Should there be a question regarding weight on the day of our event, Vitalant staff will provide a discreet area to verify that the weight requirements are met. 2023 Blood Drive - Height Weight Requirements 11 2021.pdf

  3. BGHS requires all student donors to obtain parental consent (regardless of age). Please print and turn in the parental consent forms to either the BG main office or email to mark.schaetzlein@d214.org with the subject line “STUDENT LAST NAME Blood Drive Consent”. We appreciate these forms in advance of the blood drive. Blank copies are available in the BG main office. No student will be able to donate without a completed parental consent form CLICK HERE for the 2023 Blood Drive - Parental Consent.pdf

Buffalo Grove's pressure gets to Schaumburg

The Daily Herald, January 24, 2023

"It was a rough stretch for us," first-year Buffalo Grove coach Kevin Geldon said. "I am obviously proud of the guys to continue to battle through it. Then they come out here tonight and make winning plays. Hopefully, this can kick start us again as we head into the regionals." Read Story
