Friday Focus  - Educator Prep Program rollout

214.jpgYesterday, the eyes of the nation were truly on District 214.  Representatives from Capitol Hill and New York came to speak on behalf of this D214 program, as we launched a first-of-its-kind in the nation program called Educator Prep.

It allows high school students, as early as freshman year, to declare their intention to become teachers, and supports them through high school and then college, through to employment as an educator in a primary or secondary school in our own community.  Here, 25 students sign letters of intent to be the first ones enrolled in this program, including 3 students from Buffalo Grove!

Celebrating Our Success!

Please join us in saluting Sven Cederberg, part of the security team at Buffalo Grove High School. Sven was nominated by a parent, who noted he sees his job truly as an extension of the school, and genuinely cares for every single student. During our interview with him, we found him to be a wealth of stories that clearly illustrated his passion for his work and his love for Buffalo Grove High School. You can watch his story.

Congratulations to Varsity Baseball player, Cedric Cavazos, on signing to play baseball for University of Northwestern St Paul!
