Principal Wardle's Weekly Blog 05/06/2016

Friday Focus  -  Double first place finishes in the State Chicano Bowl!
Congratulations to BOTH of our first place teams at the Chicano Bowl.  Varsity Champions, Cristina Lazaro, Dana Benitez, Edward Hernandez, and Vianey O’Campo, as well as the JV Champions, Enriqueta Mariscal, Sayra Salgado, Yenyssel Bernal, and Fatima Perera!  "The Chicano College Bowl (CCB) is an annual event that is sponsored by the Highland Park High School-Hispanos Unidos Club. It’s a knowledge bowl tournament based on the Chicano Movement in the 1960s. This is an interactive and fun way for students to learn about Mexican-American history, and it helps create a positive cultural identity.  It also provides an opportunity for many students to meet with each other and share their own Latino experiences in their communities and schools."Chicano.jpgChicano 2.jpg
