Principal Wardle's Weekly Blog

Friday Focus
Do you have questions about the technology your students have?
BGHS is excited to welcome Dr. Devorah Heitner for a special parent information evening on November 18 at 7pm in the Theater.

Devorah Heitner PhD offers insights for high school parents on growing up in a connected world with a focus on digital footprint for college and career. Dr. Heitner will also address communication etiquette, technology, "executive function" and managing distractions when studying. Are your kids using social media to enhance opportunities and minimizing potentially embarrassing media blunders? How can they prevent (or repair) problems in their lives that could undermine future opportunities?

Come learn about these questions and more on Tuesday November 18th at 7pm in the Theater.  We look forward to seeing you then!

Cindy Igyarto on Wild West Day for Homecoming

Staff member/ student of the week
What is your name?  Cindy Igyarto

What department do you teach in/ what courses do you teach   I was originally hired as the Division Assistant in the Math/Science Department and now I work in the Main Office as the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Principal - Mr. Rob Hartwig.

How long have you been teaching at BG?  I have been working as an educational support staff member here for 17 great years!

Where did you go to high school?   Morton West High School in Berwyn, IL

What part of working in a school do you find the most rewarding?  The most rewarding part of working in a high school is seeing the emotional and social growth that the students experience from their freshman year to their senior year.  As an ESP staff member it is also rewarding to be able to help the teachers and administrators.

What is something unique about you?  I love everything Disney.  Walt Disney World is my "happy place".

How else are you involved in BGHS?  I work at the sporting events at BG and I attend the plays and concerts.  I try to support the activities at Buffalo Grove High School in any way that I can.  There is a special energy in a high school with the change of the seasons, sports and activities and it is great to be a part of that.
