Friday Focus
BG State Champs Showing off the hardware from the past 4 years!
Finish Strong.  These two words were engrained into my being as an athlete and person growing up.  How many good intentions die at the hand of apathy, indifference, or just plain laziness.
As the BG State Champion cheerleading team was finishing their routine on Saturday night in the State Finals in front of a packed house at The Coliseum in Bloomington, these words: Finish Strong, flashed before my memory.  This team in front of me had finished 1st in only 1 tournament all year, including a third place finish at the MSL meet.  No one, but the team themselves, thought they would be back on the podium at State just two weeks later.  But they went on to win the sectional, finish as the top scoring team for the prelims on Friday at State, and repeat that feat on Saturday to earn the State Championship trophy.  I am so proud of this team for the way they Finished Strong.  Congrats Cheerleaders!!!

What is your name?  Lisa Raucci

How long have you been teaching at BG? 12 years

What part of teaching to you find the most rewarding?  Being able to work with kids everyday and be a positive influence on their lives.  Every day is unique and different and that is what makes coming to school each day so fun!  Even when you teach the same lesson from period to period, the dynamic of each class can make the lesson completely different. I love that about teaching......working with teenagers is NEVER boring!
