  • Congratulations to Demetri Lomnick, the new indoor school record holder and Indoor Track Conference Champion in the Long Jump at 21'8.5"!
  • Congratulations to Boys Volleyball as they kicked off their season by sweeping Hoffman Estates!
  • Way to go Boys Water Polo for the amazing 4th quarter come from behind 5-4 win over Metea Valley at the Elk Grove tournament, and on grabbing the MSL East lead. Keep it up!

Buffalo Grove High School students all in for day of service

A funny thing happened to sixth-grader Vincent Diliberto on his way to lunch last week at Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights. He and his friends found a line of students -- 150 in all -- from Buffalo Grove High School waiting to give high-fives to everyone who walked into that lunch period….In all, more than 2,100 students from Buffalo Grove spread out across the community at 30 different sites in Cook and Lake counties. Buffalo Grove grabs MSL East lead

Kevin Carr had 4 goals to help Buffalo Grove get past Elk Grove 13-3 on Monday in a matchup of Mid-Suburban East boys water polo co-leaders. The Bison (8-1, 3-0) outscored Elk Grove 7-0 in the first period to take control of the divisional race.  Read Story

1. What is your name?  Brian VanderArk
2. What department have you/ do you work in? I work in the Math/Science Department, currently teaching AP Environmental Science and Physics

3. How long have you been working at BG? This is my 23rd year teaching, my 18th at BG.
4. Where did you go to high school? I went to John Hersey High School
5. What part of working at BG do you find the most rewarding?  Getting to know my students and helping them mature into adults.
6. What is something unique about you?  I have 4 kids all within 4 years of age.

7. What activities or clubs do you coach/ sponsor? I coach boys soccer.
