Principal Wardle's Weekly Blog

Friday Focus
Buffalo Grove works closely with Omni Youth Services to provide insightful information to parents, coaches and students regarding teenage issues.  I’m excited to pall this along from Omni Youth Services:

Dear Parent,

Last fall Link Together brought John Underwood to Rolling Meadows High School. This Spring we are pleased to bring you another outstanding speaker! Milton Creagh will be presenting"Parenting in 2015 - Tell It Like It Is"

Milton Creagh is a dynamic, well respected, nationally recognized speaker and media personality with a common sense message to aid parents in instilling strong values in our teens. Hear inspirational, humorous and straight-talking strategies from the author of 'Nobody Wants Your Child' and host of the PBS television award winning series 'Parenting Works.

This event is free and will take place on Wednesday, May 27th from 7PM to 9PM at Rolling Meadows High School.
Space is limited!

Special communication for 8th Grade parents regarding summer camps
We’ve had a few questions regarding summer camp dates and the addition of snow days to the end of the middle school calendars in some districts.  I want to assure those students who are registering for summer camps that there will be no penalty whatsoever for missing a day or two of camp due to the last day of school being pushed back in the middle school district.  Additionally, we strongly support junior high students finishing the school year in school as a priority over camp.  As sports camp dates are district dates, and many of the middle school districts that feed into D214 have completed their school year by June 8th, we are not changing the start of summer camp dates.

Summer camp information and registration, athletic and academic, can be found along the left hand side of our homepage  http://bghs.d214.org/
